On June 5th, 1967, over 300,000 Palestinians—many of whom had already lost their homes in 1948—were uprooted and ethnically cleansed during what became known as the Naksa, or “the setback”. Today, people in Gaza, across the homeland, and throughout the diaspora continue to face the same reality. In commemoration of this event, @gazasunbirds has called for a @greatrideofreturn, inspired by The Great March of Return, a massive protest by Palestinians held peacefully between 2018 and 2019. Cities around the globe will host bike rides in solidarity with the Palestinian people and demanding their right to return to the lands they have been illegally expelled from by the genocidal settler state of “Isr*el” since the Nakba of 1948, the Naksa of 1967, and every day since. Let’s ride through Tokyo together in protest of the ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people by Israel, and against genocide everywhere.
